Introduction: cerebral palsy is a neurodevelopmental disorder with a clinical symptomatology that impacts greatly on the quality of life of children and their families. The hypothesis of this study is that the quality of life perceived by families with children with cerebral palsy correlates moderately with the classification systems of the pathology in question. Material & Methods: the sample is from 9 families with children with cerebral palsy. The average age of the participants is 10.33. 66.7% had hemiparesis, 11.1% diparesis and 22.2% tetraparesis. Several classification systems have been used: Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS); Manual Ability Classification System (MACS); Eating and Drink Ability Classification System (EDACS); Communication Function Classification System (CFCS); Functional Mobility System (FMS). And two quality of life questionnaires: Cerebral Palsy Quality of life (CPQOL) and KIDSCREEN27. Results: Significant correlations were found between CPQOL and the classification systems. The GMFCS and the areas of Health (-0.703) and Access to services (-0.703); FMS home and school with the area of Family and friends (0.884); MACS and CFCS with the area of Communication (-0.835 and -0.836 respectively) and finally EDACS with the area of Health (-0.67) and About your child (-0.806). And correlating the KIDSCREEN27 there are significant results between the EDACS and the Friends area (-0.707) and the CFCS and Family Life (0.717) and Friends (-0.857). Conclusion: The results of this study show the impact that motor, feeding and communication difficulties have on the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy. It is interesting to propose a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of these children. It is important not to focus just on classification systems for the assessment of quality of life, as this cannot be taken as the only influencing factor.es_ES
