| Abstract: | A finales de los años sesenta se produjo una metamorfosis en las utopías urbanas que reflejaba el agotamiento del optimismo tecnológico y la irrupción de una nueva conciencia ecológica. Este tránsito se constató en numerosas producciones cinematográficas impulsadas por la contracultura que relataron la reconfiguración y desaparición de la ciudad de la escena cinematográfica. El artículo indaga en este proceso de transformación de las narraciones fílmicas, estableciendo una secuencia que abarca en un inicio la condición política y lúdica del espacio urbano, su reprogramación, su abandono y, finalmente, la búsqueda de otros territorios, dando paso a una sucesión de utopías edénicas que protagonizaron otras fórmulas de habitar. En esta reinterpretación de la iconología fílmica emerge una nueva imaginería del vacío, ilustrada por el desierto y los territorios vírgenes que constituyeron escenarios alternativos para las utopías propias de la contracultura. |
| Description: | The late 1960s saw a metamorphosis in urban utopias that reflected the exhaustion of technological optimism and the emergence of a new ecological consciousness. This transition was reflected in numerous counterculture-driven film productions that chronicled the reconfiguration and disappearance of the city in the cinematic scene. This article explores this process of transformation of filmic narratives, establishing a sequence that initially encompasses the political and playful condition of urban space, its reprogramming, its abandonment and, finally, the search for other territories, giving way to a succession of Edenic utopias that led to other ways of inhabiting. In this reinterpretation of filmic iconology, a new imagery of emptiness emerges, illustrated by the desert and virgin territories, which constituted alternative scenarios for the utopias of the counterculture. |
