El empleo de las fuentes informativas en el tratamiento de la ley de extranjería por la prensa española

Abstract

This paper analyzes the typology of information sources used by six Spanish media (three national and three regional) when dealing with the subject of the Aliens Act. The objective is to determine the proportion of the presence of official sources and civil society, and among those, which are the political sources with greater representation, both in the media as a whole, and in particular in each one of them. It will be noted that the media use a scarce plurality of sources and overwhelmingly those coming from political parties and, among them, PSOE and PP. It will also be verified that the regional newspapers have different characteristics compared to the national ones.
